Investment Manager

***JOB PURPOSE:

• Manage MBAL’s investment portfolios and liquidity including cash flow, asset allocations, duration, returns to achieve target returns and target duration.  
• Reviews the investment strategy, Portfolio parameters/investment limitation, and recommends changes to investments policies and guidelines to optimize returns within risk appetites.
• Seeking new investment opportunities to diversify the investment universes, closing ALM gaps and mitigate investment risks.
• Supervise outsourced fund managers’ activities and regularly report to ALCO/IC on investment breaches and non-compliance matters on investment mandates and guidelines of the fund managers,
• Strengthen investment quality including credit analysis, market research, investment process and adhere to investment policies and guidelines.
• Planning, forecasting and preparing monthly performance investment report, cash flow analysis etc. Promptly report to CFO/IC and ALCO on potential risks impacting investment assets with recommendations.

***KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Master on financial products such as stocks, bonds, corporate bonds, investment units of local and foreign mutual funds, fixed income, private funds, structured products, asset borrowing, foreign fixed income, and derivatives that can offer target returns and align with company risk appetites. Continuous studying and updating with new market development on financial products and researches including domestic and global financial markets, and general current event;
• Develop and implement financial models to project SAA/ tactical band witch, portfolio risks and returns. Monitor and forecast expected returns and risks of each product and present to Executives / Committee members for approval consideration;
• Manage the Company’s investment portfolio to achieve target returns and ALM duration gaps following internal and external rules and regulations;
• Liquidity management: work closely with actuary to build up liquidity plan, closely monitor cash liquidity to support operation and investment;
• Reconcile investment data with other related parties: custodian, fund manager, accounting department;
• Supervise fund manager (FM), coordinate with FM to implement investment process and compliance process to adhere to the investment mandates and guidelines;
• Regular connect with other peers’ investment teams, specially fixed income team and update new regulation/ industry decisions that may impact one another;
• Presents investment opportunities and related analysis while pitching proposed course of action in meetings with clients;
• Manage, develop and coach team members, assign tasks and supervise team members to achieve set targets. Provide instruction and guidance on credit valuation methodology, evaluation of investment opportunities and action to mitigate investment risks;
• Promptly report to Executive/IC/ALCO on investment related activities, investment proposal in due course. 

• At least a Master’s Degree in Finance, Investment, or related fields. CFA qualification.
• At least 4 years of experience in investment in financial products/fixed income, credit analyst (international credit rating methodology) and portfolio management. Life Insurance industry working experience is a plus.
• Have leadership skills to perform their work with full efficiency in order to achieve the targets of the Company.
• Fluent communication in English, able to explain and present to stakeholders on investment related matters. Excellent oral/written communication, presentation skills are essential for writing reports and negotiating with clients
• Execute plan, supervise, control, monitor, evaluate, coaching, and coordinator skills.
• Numerate, analytical and methodical; capable of evaluating complex financial information
• Familiar with investment systems: Capital IQ, Bloomberg, PAM..
• Knowledgeable about capital market, investments and valuations.
• Eager to learn with an understanding of world business and financial affairs and an awareness of trends and current activity in the financial market
